On kindness

Kindness is the only currency that never devalues. In a world where everything is measured by ROI1, whether you invest your time, resources or money, kindness is priceless and its benefits are immeasurable. While it costs nothing, you become the richest by being kind.
I know it sounds cliché, but kindness really is contagious. A simple act of kindness goes a long way. Your small action can foster the idea in someone to do the same for others!

Picture this situation: Somebody pays you a compliment about your stylish badger socks (yes, it happened to me).

What’s your first thought?

To say thank you and maybe return a compliment back!

But what if someone says something insulting for example: “god, what a fag” - directed at you while walking down the street? (yes, also speaking from experience)

What’s your first thought there?

Probably to insult them back. Well i didn’t. Not because i didn’t feel like so, but because I did NOT want to be beaten over some stupid thing like that. However I most certainly said some things in my mind.

Kindness is neither purely innate nor purely learned. However, hate is undeniably learned.2 So instead of hate, spread compassion, understanding and love because kindness may eventually ripple back to you, possibly by the very person that received yours.
